Our plan is to raise awareness and contribute to the impoverished Chinese communities right here in Shanghai. Only 45% of females are enrolled in secondary school. We want this number to increase so that the majority of the community has a adequate education. By having education, people in china can have more opportunities and and make a positive impact on the world. Innovation and ideas are nurtured by education. Also, disease, crime, poverty, and unemployment issues will decrease as education increases. With awareness comes prevention, and more job opportunities. The government should provide education opportunities for the people, but, we can still help. We will have bake sales and other fund raisers to raise money for supplies (textbooks, notebooks, supplies, ect.) In the world today, 1 in 6 adults is illiterate. At the same time, 75 million children are out-of-school. These are disturbing numbers. We believe the world should reach out, starting with us. WE can help. WE can make a difference.
